The World's Best Bike Videos #85
Spicy World Cup racing, Crankworx Cairns and the proper unveiling of a prototype rig!
Let’s Ride
I guess it’s fair to say that the season is in full swing when there’s a Crankworx slopestyle event and a World Cup on the same weekend. Hopefully you’re all getting out to ride a ton right now…and maybe even practicing some of the new skills I’ve been sharing on YouTube?
Sleeper in Poland
The first UCI downhill race of the year looked like absolutely miserable conditions - which only makes for even better race footage. The Sleeper Collective is back this season, and their first race video of the year does not disappoint.
Orbea’s DH Bike Unveiled
Last weekend, Tahnee Seagrave celebrated a world cup win by removing the cover off of her bike on the podium. Now, we’ve got the bike being ridden in full view by both Tahnee and Kaos in this video.
Cairns Slopestyle
Watching slopestyle these days is just like watching someone play a mountain bike video game. The level of tricks and amplitude is just mind-blowing. Check out both the men’s and women’s slopestyle from Cairns in this video!
Did You See This?
This looks so fun and awesome - I can’t wait to see where they go with this. They mentioned in the caption that they’re starting a full YouTube channel - here’s a link to that if you want to be an early subscriber.
Newsworthy
🏆 The rock garden in Nové Město is always fun to watch when the World Cup comes to town. Check out the race highlights from this past weekend’s XCO racing! (Men’s Race) (Women’s Race)
🎥 Norco’s second season with their downhill race program is underway, and they’re continuing to deliver full race report videos - have a look here!
😬 Sending healing vibes to Emil Johansson after a big crash at Crankworx Cairns today. Another broken collarbone, which I think is back-to-back seasons with the same injury. Hoping the streak of injuries ends here for him, it sounds like he’s been working hard on some new tricks!
😳 Stefan Garlicki’s Swapping Lines series continues with a visit to Windrock Bike Park with the one and only Aaron Gwin!
🚀 Revel Bikes was about to close its doors a few weeks ago, but was recently repurchased by the original founder, Adam Miller. Also notable, NRML MTBer was recently spotted on a Revel - what could this mean for the future of the brand?
👀 Amaury Pierron is getting into the content game - check out his vlog from the first World Cup downhill race of the year. Stoked to see behind the scenes with the top riders!
The Skill No One Practices
It's hard to believe it, but people stopped practicing one of the most fundamental skills in MTB because a version of the skill "looked weird". In this video, we're going to bring it back to life, because it's not weird - it's useful.
This Bike Rips!
I’ve finally had a chance to get some serious riding in these past few weeks, and my Marin Alpine Trail has been the go-to. Every mountain bike is versatile, but what I love about this bike is that you can dial it in EVEN further - shorten the chainstay, raise (or lower) the bottom bracket, and two headset options (to slack out the geometry). I’ve got mine set up to absolutely eat technical rocky and rooty trails like this, and I’m having a blast!
This is an affiliate link, which means that you can support Super Rider at no extra cost (and check out an absolutely rad bike in the process).
Thank You
Thanks for riding with me this week - I hope you enjoyed the videos! I’m off to China this week for another riding and filming adventure. Stay tuned!
