It’s not about the bike.
After months of reading excuse after excuse in my comments section, I finally had enough. I pumped up the tires in my daughter’s bike and headed to my filming spot to prove that you don’t need a fancy Santa Cruz Chameleon to get the job done. This was a hand-me-down garage sale bike with clapped out brakes and “suspension” (if you want to call it that), so I thought it would be a good demonstration that these skills can be done on any bike.
I learned an important lesson after filming - and posting - this clip. The internet always wins. Eagle-eyed viewers quickly reminded me that I was on a Specialized (some people assumed S-Works frame!) and that I was, in fact, on a fancy bike after all.
Sometimes it feels like pushing a rope when it comes to teaching skills for free on the internet. But hopefully someone (other than me) got a laugh out of my pink bike shenanigans. I had fun, and I guess that’s all that matters.
